50 years with Norfolk Terriers

In 1968 I bought my first Norfolk, so this picture is 50 years old. The dogs are Int & Nord Ch Sandemars Wee Twiggy and Swed Ch Sandemars Wee Teeny.

This is Redriff Periwinkle born in 1974 by GB, Int & Nord Ch Nanfan Spikeman ex Swed Ch Sandemars Wee Teeny. Friend is a Golden Retriever from Sandemar.

Dogs have always been part of my life and all mine except one were Norfolk Terriers.

As a schoolgirl I spent several holidays as a kennel maid at Mrs. Braunerhjelm´s lovely Sandemar estate, home of the famous "Sandemars" Golden Retrievers.

Mrs. Hammarlund, "Dallas" dalmatians, introduced the Norfolk Terrier to Sweden in 1964 and the next one to fall for the breed was Mrs. Braunerhjelm. It was Mrs. Braunerhjelm´s norfolks who during the mid-60s started my admiration of the little red dogs and from that point I became completely dedicated.

Mrs. Joy Taylor, England, sent out a very nice bitch to Sandemar, Int & Nord Ch Nanfan Nullity, a daughter of Ch Nanfan Nimbus.

Int & Nord Ch Withalder We Westram, a son of legendary Ch Nanfan Heckle, was the sire of Nullity´s four puppies born in 1968. I became the proud owner of one of the bitch puppies, Swedish Ch Sandemars Wee Teeny, my first Norfolk Terrier.

I first bred Teeny to Sandemars Wee Paddy, a son of Ch Nanfan Harrier, and in 1972 Teeny gave birth to Swedish and Finnish Ch Redriff Idefix, my first homebred Norfolk Terrier.

That first litter was followed by several more. My breeding was small (one litter per year), and my dogs always lived in the house. For different reasons I stopped breeding in the mid-90s, but norfolks were still kept as muched loved family companions.

After a long absence from the show ring we bought International & Nordic Champon Easy Black Gold For Redriff in 2004 as a puppy. "Leo"  is my first black and tan and the 14th Champion I have bred or owned.
